Here's a great tip for FREE family Fun! If you are planning to visit a Georgia State Park or an Historic Site in Georgia, you can borrow a "ParkPass" from your local library. The pass is good for free parking or admission at any of the 63 parks and historic sites statewide for up to five days. You must be a Georgia resident with a valid library card to obtain the ParkPass. Supplies are limited so plan early and check with your library for availability.

R.E.A.D.® (Reading Education Assistance Dogs®) is a nationwide program for children in grades K–3 who are experiencing difficulty in learning to read. The program is designed to boost the self-esteem of new readers, which can lead to success in the classroom.On designated Tuesday afternoons and Saturday mornings, a certified and trained pet therapy dog is available at the library to inspire new readers to succeed. The library offers three time slots of 20 minutes each—by reservation—during these mornings. Parents may call (770) 253-3625, option 5 (Youth Services Department), for more information and for reservations.

During the free-play portion of the program, infants will have the opportunity to learn and play with others. Music, finger plays, and other activities will be led by library staff, and parents will interact one on one with the babies.
